Momentum Empowering Young People Through Quality Education
According to UNESCO’s ‘Sustainable development begins with education’ paper, education is essential in escaping perennial hardships and preventing generation to generation poverty. Basic educational skills such as numeracy, reading and writing have recorded substantial positive effects on the poverty-stricken population and their incomes, directly impacting the country’s revenue income. The booklet highlights that an increase in the average educational attainment of a nation’s population by a year increases the annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth from 2% to 2.5%.
The Youth in Kenya comprise a majority of the country’s population, and therefore, Kenya’s future will be secured through academic and entrepreneurial empowering of young people, and that’s why Momentum Credit Limited through its Momentum Scholarship Fund partnered with Eastlands College of Technology – a subsidiary of Strathmore Educational Trust; an institution on the forefront of youth empowerment and mentorship through vocational training, to sponsor students taking up automotive – affiliated courses in the institution, to provide quality education.
Financial instability is the stumbling block between these underprivileged students and their entrepreneurial ambitions, snatching them off a vital life value: HOPE. These beneficiaries shall now live off the uncertainty of their futures as the Momentum Scholarship Fund breathes new life into their educational journey.
Boasting of a strong linkage and authority in the automotive sector, Momentum Credit shall, through her partners, offer in-market placement to support work experience for their beneficiaries. This is dDriven by our goal to realize Quality Education as part of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, alleviating poverty by creating youth employment opportunities and enabling more income-generating avenues, , curbing crime rate in Kenya and creating a safe society, sustaining the society and business environments.
