Momentum Sahih Donates To Noor Orphanage

One of the five orders of righteousness set out in the Quran is giving of one’s cherished wealth in Charity.

‘’They ask you, O Prophet, what ways they should spend charitably. Say to them: Whatever good offering you spend is to be for your parents, and nearest relatives, and orphans, and the indigent, and the needy wayfarers. And whatever good you do, God is, indeed, all-knowing of it” (Surat Al-Baqarah, 2:215)

Momentum Sahih celebrated the Eid-Il-Fitr Festival (a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims annually, that marks the end of Ramadhan with dawn to sunset fasting) by honouring the Muslim community in the Coast Region.

Guided by the Shariah Law and inspired by Prophet Muhammad, who advocated for communal involvement in prayers and celebrations, the Mombasa Team visited the Noor Orphanage in Kaloleni, Mombasa.

Noor Orphanage was founded in 2018, starting off with just 8 children. Hit by a surge in young children turned orphans, after their parents fell victim to sorcery injustice in Rabai, Bwagamoyo and Mwawesa villages, the community, pioneered by Ustadh Salim established the home. Not only does the orphanage offer religious education, the children’s education is sponsored at the Kanyumbuni Primary School.

The Orphanage today shelters 38 Muslim children aged between 5 and 16 years old. Momentum Credit contribution covered the orphanage’s immediate needs: such as beddings, mattresses and foodstuff. The charity fund underwriting this donation was driven by Momentum Sahih clients.
