Momentum Sahih Donates To Ummu Asia Childrens Home

Charity giving is a cardinal norm in the Islamic Faith as it cements proof of faith. Charity serves as one of the ways to attain societal equity, bring justice, balance and practice kindness in the community. ‘Sadaqa’ as it is regarded to in the Quran averts calamity and increases human sustenance and blessings into one’s life.

Momentum Sahih shared in the joy of Eid-Il-Fitr Festival (a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims annually, that marks the end of Ramadhan with dawn to sunset fasting) by visiting Ummu Asia Children’s Home in Kahawa Wendani, Nairobi.

Umm Asia was founded by Ms. Mishi Kadama, popularly known as Mama Mishi, as a personal initiative in 2006 naming he institution after her late daughter. The home was officially registered as an orphanage in 2016 and co run by Ms. Mishi’s son.

The home currently hosts 26 beneficiaries between the ages of 3 to 18 years. The children attend n public and private institutions. During this visit, the Momentum team prepared and shared a meal with the children, donated consumables, books and stationery to boost the children’s education –  improving their literacy levels and shaping them into honourable community members.
